3-4 has always been soft, in comparison to the other shifts, but it firmed right up with a little more line pressure.
A case of ATF is about $50.00 USD now!!!!! |
Figured this anomoly out...
The light-throttle upshift with the 2.47:1 is taking place at the same mph where the transmission normally executes a closed-throttle downshift, so if your throttle input is light enough, the unit will shift 3-4 then immediately downshift 4-3 and then shift 3-4 again. I think perhaps lengthening the control rod a little will raise the shift points... It only does this after a long drive on the freeway and very light throttle... |
And this speed is?
(And your tyre size is?) |
Thats weird....never happened on our '83 SD that we converted to a 2.47....I had the modulator and bowden cable set pretty firm for shifts and drawn out for throttle position.

Shifts are firm, but I need to space them out a bit apparently... PawoSD: You have a different transmission....:) |
Some data that might help

From Chapter 27-320 in German FSM
Teilgas Goes to 3 at about 30 km/h Goes to 4 at about 50 km/h Shift points from German FSM http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1372282930 And my super quick estimations and conversions for you (Aerodynamic effects and engine power / capability ignored! This is just gearing) http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1372283018 |
Nicely done!
