Helicoil in suspension bearing bracket

While removing the crossmember for a transmission fluid change, I found one of the three bolts into the suspension bearing bracket had stripped threads. This was on removal, so I must have messed it up several years ago.

Should I tap a larger size or go for a helicoil?

I'd like to avoid the hassle or removing the whole bracket and fooling with the guide rod again if possible.

This is for 1983 300SD
