Warning On The LuK Clutch

I just got my new LuK clutch this morning. Everything looks OK BUT......

Their advertising says they include the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, alignment tool and pilot bearing WHEN NECESSARY. Evidently LuK decided that mine was NOT necessary! A local shop has ordered one for me for a good price (I'll have it tomorrow) but be aware that it probably won't be in the kit if you order this item.

As I'm putting the 240D trans behind a formerly automatic engine there is, of course, no pilot bearing installed. Why LuK thought that the existing pilot would be OK (or, in my case, present) is beyond me.

At least they deemed you worthy of the clutch disc! Does the kit look like quality (other than the omission of the pilot bearing)? Where did you purchase it/how much was it? I can't find one on eBay right now...

A Pilot Bearing doesn`t cost all that much, strange they omitted it. It was listed as a kit.

The Alignment tool for the 240D is the same 10 Spline as the Chevy.
Somewhere is "all" my 4-spd swap threads I have the part# for the plastic tool. Any auto parts store can order one for you.

The components look excellent. It has everything except the pilot bearing - throwout bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate, and lube. I noticed that the throwout bearing is labeled "Hecho en Germany" (no really, it does say made in Germany). I didn't look at the disc and p-plate for country of origin but I'll wager they're German, too.

I hesitate to tell you here where I got mine given that it wasn't Peach Parts - I found a great deal. PM me and I'll tell you. Doesn't seem decent to give out purchase info on their forum.

A Volvo tranny output shaft works also.
