It's a tank selector switch for a 70's-90's Chevy. It has built in returns to allow fuel to flow back if that side is "off". I think it's not working but I have not been able to test both sides of it. I'm going to re-route the small tank to completely bypass the switch until I get the LP fixed and the switch replaced. The only thing that stinks about that is the tank is only about 1 gallon so I'll have to fill up before I go anywhere each time.

Drove the car around last night and then into work today. Runs ok on the highway, idles like crap and shakes like a mother at stoplights. It's been doing this for a while though. I'll be ordering the lift pump kit to see if I can get the factory LP working. Driving around with a 1 gallon tank is going to get old yesterday. Also, I tested the switch/valve a little more last night and it seems to be working after all.

Hmm.....

There's half the problem!

You used WVO in the vehicle tank for some time-----

Then you used BIODIESEL in the vehicle tank for a bit--And it went wrong!

Cause?--

The WVO affects the steel coating of the tank, causing a waxy deposit to coat the metal surface.
Continue to use WVO--and all is well--Even use Diesel or mix in some RUG with the veg, and all is well.....

Use BIODIESEL in this condition however,--and it all goes tits up!

The BioDiesel reacts with the waxy coating to cause it to partially solidify and start to shed from tank surface....

The resultant brown hard/sticky stuff blocks up pipework, valves, gauze-filters--most things in the system.....
--Seen this a few times when people switch from WVO to BioDiesel....

Answer--

Remove and steam out tank, lines, gauze-filters the lot. Replace any rubber pipes in the system....

Alastair, that is good to know about the WVO to B100 switch. I had assumed that the same properties that WVO has for dissolving diesel gunk would apply to B100. I did not know B100 will react differently.

I ran about a week on straight diesel and today it died and wouldn't start. It would run mostly ok and then randomly start quivering and shuddering. I'm concerned that is the IP starting to fail. I still haven't been able to secure a lift pump to try out the stock side. I had it towed home today and will be doing some research on getting it fixed vs parting it out and buying another wagon.
