Part number help w123 1978 300D! Any takers?
 

Does anyone have the part numbers for the 3 pieces of chrome trim around the rear window? I just installed a new seal, but am now thinking I would like to replace the chrome with some new pieces. I appreciate all help!

Give Phil a call on this site at Mercedes Shop and he can get you a quote on new part prices, and even perhaps used on these parts. If you have a salvage yard near you, this would probably be the best bet for better pricing.

Thanks for the reply. Surely you are kidding about finding parts in a junkyard.... :D you see, I seem to be living in Southern West Virginia where unless you are a Chevy or Ford driver you are basically out of luck when it comes to finding parts. Gosh, I even have a heck of a time finding used parts for my 1990 Chrysler. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for owning relative orphans:

1988 Chrysler Conquest
1990 Chrysler Imperial
1978 Mercedes 300D
1999 C43

All cars you do not see too often rolling down the street (well, here anyway)... Part numbers would be nice only for checking around for some pricing. Hey, if I call Phil, do I get a discount for mentioning your name?

I got these from a 1991 Replacement Parts Manual that I have the only other parts it lists is the rear window itself and the sealing frame (I assume that is the rubber piece) this is what they list.

Frame, Left # 123 678 09 30
Frame, Right #123 678 10 30
Frame Bottom #123 678 03 30

Joint Cover, Left #123 678 02 37
Joint Cover, Right #123 678 01 37

Sorry in my first post I looked at your signature and looked up the parts for your 126 SD. When I submitted that post I saw and read your question closer. Had to edit a little!
