Oil pressure mechanical->electrical conversion
Can an electrical oil pressure gauge be retrofitted to a W123 gauge set? My mechanical gauge works now for oil pressure, but the the phrases "failure is a common occurance" and "sorry sir there's no W123 diesels in our junkyard" mix like oil and water.
I'd like to prepare for the scenerio where my gauge dies, leaks oil and I'm already prepared for this conversion.

This to me is about the last failure to expect. Rather than a conversion just grab a cheap cluster at the wrecking yard of the same type while available and the oil feed if you wish and shelve them.
The electric oil pressure system is more likely to develop problems in my opinion. You are right in that at some point used parts may become far more scarce. |

I'm hopefully going to make a trip to the partsyards near me to see if anything changed, but the last time I went a few months ago there weren't any W123's.
