Wahler and Behr are OEM, I have both for spares.

Answer

For me, 90% of the time it is an emergency, and I get them Star marked (within 12 hours) from my local MB dealer.

The few good used units I have are only for diagnostic testing.

IMO it is a bad idea to install a used thermostat, unless you are junking the car in a month.

Thanks again Hunter, my car is a plain middle of the packl w123 in blue, 112k miles since new is about its biggest attribute because po did not do much of any maintenance at all to the vehicle, a short asian lady, luckyly she did not floor it much so theres lots of compression and handling to be had in the car.
I did not think much of a used thermostat because of the simple design plus the ones i have had in other cars have not failed ever. but this is an autozone or kragens special.
