05 E320 CDI--SBC fluid change/brake bleed/pads and rotors.
Per the 211 manual, they want you to "star diagnosis" deactivate SBC
Given I'm not paying anyone to do what I have always done, there appear to be three options; Fuse 72 and 73 in the prefuse box up front AND/OR disconnect the SBC control unit right front (A7/3) and peddle valve sensor (A37/1) orrrr, disconnect both batteries. BOTTOM LINE, I don't want any fault codes! Guys, please-- If you're intimately familar with this system either by personal experence or having been through the manaul, I would love your input first. Thanks, G

I've done it with and without the computer and it is way easier without in my opinion. Just disconnect the connector at the SBC unit and perform the work. Keep the key out of the ignition during the work. Take your time and you will be fine.

Did you let it sit first after you were ready to start work and let it grind and whir first and let it complete its self testing loop before you disconnected the SBC?
10 deadly sins seems to be key in when something that should be hooked up is disconnected.

I don't remember but probably did let it settle down before putting it in the air (I've got a lift) and removing the wheels/tires.
