210 Window Regulator Install & Synch (?)

I have a replacement rear window regulator and am wondering if I need to install the motor in a particular manner to be indexed to the position of the window.

Better said, Does the motor have internal limit switches ? If so should I run the motor to a limit and install with the regulator at same limit ?

Thanks in advance, first time installing regulator.

When I installed mine, I just pushed the UP button until the motor stopped and then attached the motor to the "bow" type cable and pulley system with it in the up most position. I think the motor somehow has a torque sensor and it "re-learns" it's limits when you re-sync after installation.

Sorry, that's probably confusing.

Thanks Kartek,

Actually No that is not confusing. If it is, probably it since you read mine !!

Makes sense as it is easiest if window is up.

I will try this tonight.

Yeah, I think that's correct. I've done the task (rear) twice. Never made it a point to create any sort of reference. It does seem to handle the syncing on its own

Duh, It could not have been easier more straight forward. It would have been better if MB dealer gave me four poprivets of the same size, I have to scare up the last onSe.

Should I lube the vertical track ?? If so, would a waterproof lube would be best ??

Thanks,
