Vacuum Barb on Injector Pump is broken, please help
I have two '87 with 603 6 cylinder engines. There is a rubber 90 degree vacuum fitting on the side of the injector pump that is bad on both and one is just barely holding on. I looked online at Peach Parts and searched threads, but I can't find this mentioned. The vacuum diagram says to the line goes to the cabin ventilation system if I'm reading it right. One end receives a vacuum line that goes through the fire wall and the other end has a barb that fits into the side of a box mounted the the injector pump below the ALDA. Can anyone tell me what this is called or give me a product number? I'm hoping that since both of mine are bad others have had the same experience and know what this part is called.
Thanks in advance for the help. My apologies is this is something simple that I should have found. |

From your description, this appears to be the vent line for the vacuum system. It provides fresh air to the vacuum system via the line that goes into the cabin.
From memory, there is no magic to that 90 degree rubber fitting. You can substitute a piece of vacuum hose in a pinch. The 90 fitting makes for a better underhood look, but I would not search forever for it. It's most certainly a dealer item. If you really want it, send me a PM and I'll find the number on the parts lists. You'll need to go to a dealer, or, possibly Pelican can also order it for you. |

If you don't care about the stock look...I replaced mine with a 90 degree fitting from the "help" section in advanced auto parts. I just brought my old one and found a 90 degree rubber fitting that looked similar and replaced it. I think from your description you are talking about the rubber 90 degree fitting on the vacuum modulator?
