1983 300CD Rubber parts availability?
 

Been away for a while. Buying a nice '83 300CD and was wondering if the door, side windows and REAR window rubber is still available? Are the power window regulators hard to find? Thanks for any leads.

This is what I bought since I have been here last. A new 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI for my wife and I and I bought for me the 1970 Triumph 650 Bonneville

Well good news and bad news there.

First, welcome back.

Second, main front window seals, the big ones with the window channels, are available. List is I think $350 a side. Start watching for NOS or 'alternate' sources. I scored an almost-new set from a guy who was doing a full restoration on his CD, and was buying every piece of rubber new.... No idea on the actual door seals.

Look on eBay for a guy from Thailand who sells the rear window seals cheap.

Window regulators are a similar story. Post a "want to buy (WTB)" ad in the Mercedes Used Parts for Sale and Wanted subforum here. They seem to pop up from time to time here, much cheaper than on eBay.

So how is yours for air and water leaks? The one I am looking at has under 100,000 miles.
