Door central lock transfer
*UPDATED PROBLEM (see post#4)* My 1989 190D 2.5 turbo was supposed to be delivered to Japan, It has LHD which is good for my country but the central door lock is on the right door. Can this be transfered to the driver door? is it a big job?

I recommend getting a left hand lock mechanism from a 124 and trying to install it in your driver's door. Leave the right door alone so you at least have one that works.

I just read that I'm supposed to be able to lock the by turning the keys from outside whether it is from the intended driver door or the passenger door. So the issue is not related to it being a Japan version car.
Right now, i could only lock all doors from the front passenger (right) door. could anyone tell me, is this an electrical issue or a vacuum issue? |
