hi guys

as it says on the title, when its cold (usually in the morning) the engine rough idle and it does white smoking a lot. however, the car starting just fine and when its warm the engine running normal and no smoke.

the ignition lamp came on and shut off in 3-4 secs in the morning. i have read some posting in here said thats indicating a trouble on my glow plug. i have tested the pre glow plug relay with multimeter and it seems the circuit running fine around 1 ohm. it does mean my glow plugs in good condition. i tested the relay for voltage and it has battery voltage around 13 volt. so, why my ignition shut off quit fast?

so any thoughts what is wrong with the car?

Most likely, one or more of your glow plugs are bad.

X2, sound like a GP or 2 are marginal or not working. the best way to test besides the DVM, is to remove them and add voltage to see how hot the ends (Red) get. Even if they glow red and the ends are a darker color, toss them.

Use Anti-Seiz on the threads when replacing them back into the Head.

Caution: They do get Hot and will Burn you.

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
