no tunes after shop

1987 300sdl. Ok have original radio in car and working great when it went in for suspension work. Two weeks later (one week job...ya right) now car has no sound. Dial lights w/ correct radio station displayed, antenna goes up but no sound from volume at all. Have checked obvious- antenna connections, fuses, fader etc. Radio acts like the antenna is not found, as seek/scan gives no station for am or fm. Sounded great before shop..any ideas?

Did they do any welding? (Perhaps they weren't too careful with the wires and welded through something)

...you could take it back to the shop - but I guess you don't want it gone for another two weeks...

Pull back the trunk liner where the antenna is, the cable is probably disconnected.

Also, check the ground strap that goes from the antenna housing to the chassis.

update

after pulling panel in trunk, all connections good. pulled radio and checked antenna cable (with it disconnected at antenna)..cable is good. Tried tape in player and have tunes..but...this am tape is now stuck on way in to work. Had to pull radio fuse. I think the radio is the culprit. I did try another antenna I have and reasonably sure it's ok..so narrows down to probably radio unit.
Monday Monday and just that day.....
Thanks for the help

I might have another radio if you aren't in a hurry.
