glow plug relay harness wiring

2 Attachment(s)
This question is for the w123 1979 240D.

Recently noticed the (dash) glow plug light would stay on after the engine started.

I would then shut off, restart. Glow plug light would go off.

Now it won't start, no glow plug light on.

Switched to an extra glow plug relay unit, but nothing changed.

In the process of switching this relay, the harness came apart and I'm not sure of the correct wiring when putting it back together.

There are various colored wires, and the harness has numbers for each hole.

Does anyone know where I can find a diagram to make sure the correct wires are back where they belong?

So now I'm thinking of "going for it"....

the pencil style upgrade, finally!

Where does one get the wiring for the parallel set up?

Does peach parts carry this, or has everyone been making their own?

There are kits but most contain monark plugs....which are not recommended. You want to use Bosch plugs, plus the kits are pricey. You can buy the wire and connectors at any parts store and make your own.

People usually make their own Wires.

There should be instructions in the DIY Section.

If your old Relay is still working the minimum you need is circled in red in the pic. And, as I said you can make your own Wires.

This is the Bosch Glow Plug number 80035

Yes! Thought it might be something I could do myself.

Diesel 911, is that the correct Bosch Glow Plug number that I should order from peachparts?

What a treasure trove of DIY links! Thanks.

I looked at the Pelican Ad it has that they are Bosch Glow Plugs. Pelican may have their own Part Number, be using the Mercedes Part number or using the other Bosch Number.

For some reason Bosch uses tow part numbers there will be the 80035 likely on the Plug and on the box there will be 0 250 201 010.

Great info, thanks!

Should have changed to the pencil style years ago.
