W124 windows, wiper, seats , horn , sunroof don't work and srs light on

This is a 1995 300d. There is the same problem here but no follow up so I thought I would post one here in dd and update that one when we solve it. I guess I'm a little prejudice against gas burner drivers. Convenience Control Module Unit

The deal is everything works when using key in door. All windows and sunroof go up and down. Seats move when the doors are open. Wiper and horn , well i dont know how to make it work any other way. But with key on nothing works, car running or not. the srs light is always on. but the radio works.

So what is the common link? I've searched and found the convenience control module does A lot of this but I think it also does the key in door windows up trick. I'm going to check it.

Also the ignition switch could be a culprit but he radio works. I need to check the wiring diagram.

And finally it seems the combination relay operates wipers and horn. I'm off with my multimeter for some fun. I'm starting at the fuse box and relays next to it.

Salud.

I'm not electrician, but....

Change out all your fuses with the copper ones if you haven't already. The original ones, even though they might look to be in good shape, become pitted over time and cause resistance, putting extra strain on other electronic stuff.

Outside of that, that's the extent of my electronic wizardry, and that one I got from someone else who told me about it.

That was it. Time will tell. So I look at the fuse chart and see fuse 2 covers every base in my problem - wipe wash, horn, comfort circuitry, window lift 86. Bingo! The fuse was old and silver . I replace it and everything works but srs light is still on. Great. I also pulled all the relays under there and checked them For clean contacts and burn marks.

I tested the old fuse and it ohms. I put it back in and it now works. But i bet it wouldnt for long. I cleaned the fuse holder with sand paper too. I'll replace all fuses. Thanks!
