Just cut the chain, you may have to replace it anyway.
Then deal with the pins on the bench.
Fix the head gasket and put your diesel back together before you take the next one to bits.
It doesn't work out having too many projects.
Believe me, i am talking from experience.

Didn't see the post you must be asking about, but Doktor Google found this:

The Darkness - Dinner Lady Arms - YouTube

Some of the other songs on the album seem apt. For example:

"It seemed like a good idea at the time"

Otherwise, less interestingly:

My driveway is living proof. Here are some pics taken over the last month or so.

BTW, the 190e looks great. They are much more attractive in euro trim than the versions we got in NA.

Indeed Graham got it - it is a reference to that song which is about getting old (among other things) - matronly upper arms might be the only thing left on the table for some of us!

Dinner Lady Arms:

Definition: Arms that have saggy flabby bits near the armpit, that droop when the arms are raised and bulge out when the arms are by one's sides. It tends only to be women who suffer from dinner lady arms.

Example:

Nice dress.....shame about the dinner lady arms

Can you rethread the guide pin and try to pull it out?
One of the holes couldn't be done like that because it is in the middle of the head - the other one could possibly be tackled that way.

Re-threading the pin might be a possible solution but I think the corrosion is probably going to win.

I don't want to cut the chain - it is still lining up nicely at the camshaft and the crank - and it is probably going to cost me the best part of 400 euros to get a chain and a tool to fit the chain (can't rent tools where I am)

So I'd rather take out the engine than pay the extra money!

Love the pictures of your driveway - classic. However, I think one car under one tarpaulin is enough for me. 'Cos of the divorce fiasco I'm probably going to have to move house so I need these cars to be mobile or in the crusher...

PS- Why not get a foxbody with the 4 cylinder? They're so ugly no one will ever mess with it. The engine can be turbocharged and run up to around 400hp "easily"
I've already watered most of Europe with an old Metro - I don't really think the roads around here need anymore coolant!

Yeah but when you are six and the other kids won't let you play football they're a comforting place to be - I get the feeling that's the gist of the song...

...although he's somewhat older and now has sex with the dinner lady - but hey life moves on
