W201 With 7 Holes In Rear Rotor, Not 6
I ordered a set of rear rotors from AH this week, only to find that the Bosch set that shipped had 6 holes, not 7.
On my car (89 190d), there are 5 holes for the lug bolts, 1 hole for a locating dowel, and 1 hole for a screw. The Bosch discs did not have the locating dowel screw. They're obviously not compatible with my hubs. Does anyone know if the locating dowel went away in later w201s? AH is claiming Bosch issued a part supercession rule for these.

I believe my 190E (MY93) has the locating dowels... They might be wanting you to leave the screw out.. and use the hole for the locating dowel.

I agree. with the 5 lug bolts holding the rotor between the wheel and the axle, nothing is going to move.

I believe since MB does the wheel fasteners backwards (bolts instead of studs and nuts), the rotor needs something to keep it from turning on the hub while locating the wheel. A set screw or locating dowel will keep the rotor lined up if the wheel is turned to line up the bolts. Yes the locating tool can be used, but how many MB owners still have one? ...Rich
