This is Odd; I just ordered 2 of these from Amazon this Morning. I plan to use them as Fans for inside of the Car (none of My Vehicles have working AC). I believe they have an OD of 3 Inches.

2 of them were $41+ with free shipping from the USA. The other they sell come direct from China.
I bought the last 2 in stock.

On Amazon you get to read the buyers feedback on them.

I put some of this in the 05 E320 to try to clean out the sludge.

good snake oil?

The car is going through some oil. I have a spare engine that, if I can find the time, I will drop in it. Figured I did not have much to lose. I will say that the smoking seems to have been reduced. I will eventually pull the valve cover and post some before and after pics.

There may be a Scam going in involving the same Pills in Australia. Apparently they are the Same as the CYI Petrol Pills.

“The blue pills were sourced from CYI Techni Lube Co in California.”
"The CYI stood for Create Youth International.

Many of the claims made about the pill - that it reduced fuel consumption and harmful emissions - would later be made about the brown pill marketed by Firepower, though Firepower says it uses a different formula,"

Where there's smoke, it's a job for Firepower - Business - Business - smh.com.au

Added from the above article: "Those familiar with the product said the pill was a formulation containing ferrocene, a commonly available chemical.

Ferrocene and its derivatives are anti-knock agents that can be added to unleaded petrol to enable it to be used in vintage cars designed to run on leaded petrol. In diesel-fuelled engines, ferrocene reduces the production of soot."

ADDED: I read another article and it said that Ferrocene decreases the Soot in Diesels but at the expense of a 4% reduction in Fuel Mileage. The stated reason was that Ferrocene inhibits the burning of the Fuel. It also is supposed to cause more NOX emissions.
In Gasoline Engines Ferrocene decreases the chance of detonation (raises the Octane) but causes Iron Deposits to build up on the Spark Plugs. I did not look up if it increased Gasoline Mileage.

What's the general opinion on things like Diesel Kleen and those other diesel additives? Are they snake oil? Do they really clean injectors and improve fuel economy etc if you use them for a while?

Just wondering,

I use one of the Powerservice additives and it reduces the Smoke during heavy acceleration on My Volvo Diesel.

It increases the Cetane and that decreases the normal diesel knock noise at least when the Engine is cold.
If raising the Cetane is a good thing then the Additives that do that should have some benefit.

Some where in our threads there is that Spicer Wear Scar Chart that tells which additives reduced wear (Fuel Injection System parts lubed by Diesel Fuel).

Additives cost more they increase the Cost of a Additive treated Tank of Fuel.
However, they often claim to increase Mileage. I don't know if that is true or not.

Thanks for posting this. As I said I ordered 2 of them with the intention of using them as Cooling Fans for the Inside of My Car.

Because I saw the pic I went back and started trying to research those fans better. Apparently the above pictured Fan is not even Electric?????

I just got back from the Amazon site trying to cancel My Order. I surely hope that works out OK.

I'm surprised that someone hasn't made a little blue pill joke yet.
