1985 190d blowby

I know I have aother irons in the fire right now . However I left a deposit on a 85 190d last night . Waiting for title to get back to owners before paying it in full .
Price was $350.00
Has blowby , crack in valve cover ( plastic ) , and dents in both right side doors. runs and drive . Just not much power when compared to my 300sd.

Selling my 93 festiva now to get the funds back .
Car is a auto non turbo of course.
Has 300k on it . Should it have much blowby with that amount of miles ?

Any advice . TIA.

Could not pass it up . Besides wife was out of town . And fyi I did notify her by text I bought it after the fact . LOL

Well, 300k is a lot of miles for any car so some blowby is inevitable. And if I'm an average 190d driver, that engine has been matted most of its life. Its a good engine though prone to head gasket leaks imo. It should run pretty smooth if its feeling good. Hard to beat the price if it runs.

I love my 190 but its a small car, so I wouldnt take the kids out to the grand canyon in it anytime soon.

no canyons . Will look for some 17s and black with flames paint job .

Will have to do compression test on it I reckon.

Its got the '87 turbo right front fender? Don't think my '85 has a plastic valve cover? Got an engine bay picture?

My 190d has an engine from an '84 in it...with about 247k on it. Has a significant amount of blowby (more than any of our 617's...) and yet it fires right up at 5F with no heater (and even better with one)....after a minute of being upset about it, it runs strong. I'm hoping to get 100k out of it. Still gets 29-31 city and 34-36 highway too....

received a call title is in already . That is darn quick for a kansas title.

Here in st louis this weekend for a wedding ( niece) . And located some 17 inch wheels off of a 300se .
Will attempt to repair the valve cover once it is at my place . Maybe jb weld repair will suffice .
