I don't see a kit for the vacuum pump on pelican parts?
Could someone point me in the right direction?

Generally people use "Repair Kit - Vacuum Pump Valves" and "Repair Kit - Vacuum Pump Diaphragm", both about 1/3 of the way down the first page of that link.

You have probably found the more useful threads on the repair of the diaphragm already. But this same project was my first repair on my 220d, so I did a brief thread on the subject. After you have read the better threads, perhaps my experiences will be helpful too.
Vacuum pump diaphragm replacement, a beginner's perspective Good luck.

Shortsguy1,
Thanks for the parts link and excellent write-up! You mentioned you regretted using the FEBI brand - was it just the screws or would you have gone with the MBZ or other upgraded brand for the whole kit? So it appears there are two kits - one is the diaphragm (definitely need this) and another "valves". Wondering if I need both? I'm looking to add some new check (?) valves and connectors as well.

I think most people do both the diaphragm and the check valves, simply because once they are covered in oil, it is easier to just replace the check valves. Also, they also do fail, so it is only a small additional expense to do both repair kits. Febi is fine for these parts. I would save your money and not buy genuine in this case.
My only regret was using the screws they supplied. I should have just re-used all the old screws. They are flathead, and the access is a little awkward, so it was easy to strip the new ones. There is differing schools of thought on pretensioning the diaphragm during installation. I don't remember all the different approaches, but technically you are supposed to pull the whole vacuum pump off the engine to do the repair. I didn't do that to save time and reduce the number of things I could mess up. But if you do pull it off the engine, you would need to order a vac pump gasket as well (on the same parts page I linked to above). As an aside, I have never heard of Effbe as a brand. It sounds like a knock-off of Febi, which is funny because Febi is not exactly famous for their quality these days. I cannot advice on those diaphragms, but if you chose to use a different vendor, Febi diaphragm's are available.

Hmmm, I guess Effbe is a legit diaphragm company:
Welcome to the EFFBE website So maybe that would be better than a re-boxer like Febi. In the end, I have never heard of anyone complaining of poor quality aftermarket diaphragms, so I don't think you can go wrong with that decision.

Don't the W123 diaphragm pumps have the same lever ball-bearing issue as the W123 piston-pumps -
where parts of a failed bearing can fall into the timing-chain? If so you mignt want to consider just replacing the whole pump. Happy Motoring, Mark

Before rebuilding or replacing the vac pump do more diagnosis. Disconnect the pipe and hose and blow into it (your mouth will do). You shouldn't be able to blow through it if the diaphragm is good.

The other option is to install a piston type vacuum pump from a 300D or any of the five cylinder engines. After two diaphragm repairs I made the switch.
I think the diaphragm type pumps don't like high RPM.

Hmmm...was ready to order...
But a simple test is recommended: to blow into the hose to tell if the diaphragm is still good. Or swap pumps with a 300 type to get away from the diaphragm design. But swapping pumps might require some modding - on an easy scale or ?
