Mystery part 82 300SD
I was changing my power steering lines and after testing I noticed this part leaking beneath the injector lines on the drivers side. What is it? Is it missing a cap or something?

priming pump
Manual primer pump. They are known to develop leaks and are easily replaced.

Also, you currently have the old style pump. The new one will be black and smooth and slender.

As they said, replace it with one of these...
Also judging by the grime on the filter....I would say you could use new fuel filters.

It's a realtivly easy job and a great time to change both fuel filters. One thing I found interesting was the short fuel line between the pump and pre-filter was stamped NOT FOR FUEL - got to love PO.
