Help tracking down a leak
In the last couple of days I noticed a leak under my w210 E300TD.
It was green so im guessing trans fluid or coolant. Went under the car and saw a green crust formation on the metal transmission pipe(alternator side) where it screws onto the flexi, looked like there was corrosion around the P clip that holds it inplace, I removed the whole pipe and cleaned it up and repaired it, there was no visible holes. I put it all back together and took it for a drive, the next day it is still leaking, after seeing the colour of my trans fluid yesterday im guessing it has to be the coolant. I cant see anywhere in that area where it could be leaking from. Has anyone had a leak in this area or can anyone point me in the right direction to track the source down. Firstly, your coolant should not be green... it should be clear or gold.
2ndly... that crust appears to be copper corrosion, from chroming or something... perhaps it's condensation from the a/c? |
