Those are wonderful cars. A buddy of mine got an '05 with 26,000 miles on it for $26,000 (yes, $1 per mile!). White with camel interior. We got 33 MPG average on the 100 mile trip back.

I got the year wrong, it is in fact an '07, not '05.

The CDI finally indicated 'low fuel' last evening, which is what I was waiting for to see at what gallonage it takes to fill up from that point.

When I bought the car the first week of June, the dealer in San Antonio filled the tank with diesel, as a courtesy to the buyer, so it took a couple months for me to run through the 1st tank's 19 gallons, even though I drove the car over 300 miles just getting it home.

Yup, just as the Owners Manual indicated, the 'low fuel' indicator illuminated when about (2) gallons shy of empty.

I fueled up immediately, and it took right @ 19 gallons without too much time spent on brimming it. The CDI's fuel tank capacity is rated @ 21.1 gallons - (same as my old '99 E300's was) so this is right on the mark per the manufacturer, as far as when the 'low fuel' light illuminates.

Very nice car!

I spent months looking for a 05-06 W211 CDI and gave up as they are not traded off very often. I found a mint condition '02 W210 E320 just to hold me over until I find a W211 CDI.

Thanks for the kind replies!

It's been 1-year and a couple weeks since buying the CDI in SanAntonio.

Have put 2,700 miles on it in that time.

A real pleasure to be owning and driving this car.

Can you update us on pros and cons?

These seem like good used vehicles.

How do you like the E320 CDI compared to other vehicles you have owned? What are the pros/cons? Which options do you think a must haves and nice to have?

Owned this '06 E320 CDI 4 years and 2 months.

The CDI now has 72K total miles now on it.
Love this car!

My old '99 E300 in Smoke Silver. My brother has owned it 4-years:

Thumbs up Super but add convex mirrors to side mirrors

Mine is getting more use. :-)

Best all around road car I have ever driven or ridden in. Comfortable, economical, excellent fit and finish, and fast.

Only real mod I have done is add two blind spot convex mirrors to upper, outside of side mirrors. The European versions have blind spot curvature but these were not allowed by US Gov. on imported vehicles.
