I put a new regulator in just 6 years ago, and found out today it is at fault for the fan speeds not working properly. My fan goes from low for maybe 30 seconds, then shifts itself immediately to high; it won't stay on low or variable auto setting.
I will say the 6 years also equals 100,000 miles over that time, but seems like this should have lasted 15-20 years, not just for the price of $250, but also because it's such a hard part to get to, so you'd think they would have made a better part. I won't know the manufacturer until i get this out, but it's a German OEM part, got it from Rusty 6 years ago.
Since my old one for $250 only lasted 6 years, this time I bought one off ebay for $45, probably guaranteed to be from China.
