I specifically asked if he could double check the 15" rims, and he wrote back that the auction would be over before he could go check again. I bid anyway, but not as high as I would have.
It maybe like a lot of other sellers....he thought the car is worth 13,000$ because its a Mercedes and he's high disappointed that the public says its only worth 360$....you'll probably see it auctioned again....I would contact him and tell him he has till so n so to get ahold of you and then leave a negative feedback..

Good news. I have spoken with him, and arranged to pick it up tomorrow morning. I get nervous when I don't hear from people. Not sure why. John, I would swing by, but not sure what it needs yet. I'm excited now, for sure. Evan, can I call you when I'm in the area? Brian, I meant when I get it home for the running part. I'll let you guys know how this all turns out. Maybe I can get somewhere with wi-fi access and post pics on the way back.

Tony, I can ride over and meet you there if you need a hand. Call my cell or send a PM if you don't have the number.

Well, it is home, and cleaned up. The list of things it needs is extensive. It looks like they painted it, lost most of the trim and just left it. And then there's the motor parts missing, etc.. Was sort of surprised to push my thumb through the floor. Very unhappy. He gave me $100 back for it, so I wasn't too upset after that. It looks like I'll be hacking the floor out of my parts car to weld into this one. I'll be careful, I promise. Anyway, on to the pics. These are after I washed it quickly. Car needs a buffing, and it'll shine very nicely. Can't crush this one, it looks too nice. Another thing, I hope I can polish this cam, I'd hate to have to get another one.

I see a dime!

Bummer about the floor....really bummer about the engine, it was even converted to r134....have you attempted to try and turn the engine over by hand? Sadly my cam looked just like that and it even had the valve cover on it....I just let the oil remove the rust....I would just spray it all down with mmo and run it.....the rust doesn't appear really serious...

Motor turns over by hand. Rust is very minor, and should clean up easily. Oil looks good, trans fluid looks good, brake fluid looks good. I knew I'd find a use for my parts car.

That's great! I think you just got the worlds cheapest kit car

Does the floor rust effect where the seats bolt down?

That rust looks minor and confined to one spot, so I think you could cut out that spot and weld in new metal. I did that with my $90 Harbor Freight welder, so buy one if needed. Easiest to lap weld, a butt-weld is tricky (burn-thrus).

The rust on the cam shouldn't be a problem. Looks like surface rust. Just wipe with a towel, and cover with break-in lube. Seems stupid they left the valve cover off. Should have at least sprayed the top end w/ WD-40.

A good paint job is worth $2000, so you got a great deal. I see 300D's at PickNPull here all the time, so the parts are not longer priced like gold. You should be able to get it back together cheap, and have a great car. My son is driving one I got locally for $400, after I repaired a cracked LCA bracket.

I might have all the trim pieces you are missing. If you want me to look, please send me a PM.
