finally got it. My friend had a a socket that hook up to a hex wrenceh. I put some liqiud steel on the rounded off head and It molded into the damaged part of the head. I gave the wrench a couple taps with the hammer and it was loose. Noe both rear door check straps have been replaced. My next project is fixing the drivers window. I think its a switch problem so I'm gonna cahnge that first and go from there. It feels so fulfilling to fix your car yourself especially knowing how much money I'msaving

Congrats on getting the bolt off! I know the feeling...I used to have an '80 IH Scout that was so badly rusted that I was losing parts.

Fixin gstuff yourself, if nothing else, gives you that sense of achievement that you were able to do something that quite a few people out there can't.

Finances aside, for the most part, I actually prefer doing my own work...more self-fulfilling and you know it was done right (as long as you followed the directions) as opposed to giving your car to a shop, writing a check for triple the amount a day or two later, and still running the risk of it having been Mickey-Moused...
