New Engine Mounts and Shocks

Had the engine mounts, transmission mount and all 4 shocks replaced today.$440 labor with my supplied parts. Uro mounts ( I know. We'll see), bilstein shocks. The 240d feels great. Vibration gone, shuts off without the engine shaking, and rides real nice. But now there's a low pitched engine noise when taking off from a stop, and the idle seems lower and there's less noise at idle. The rumble is kind of annoying. At first I thought an exhaust leak from banging the down pipe (recently replaced), but it sounds like a louder engine. There's also a drone at highway speeds. Does any of this sound familiar? Everything looks nice and tight, but do mounts have a break in period?

Check to make sure you didn't lose an exhaust donut.

But unfortunately this sounds a bit like the SD I test drove once that had a bad mount.

My D is doing something like that now, but only in reverse. Due for mounts.

I heard that the 240 takes different mounts than a 300. It is possible that the rubber is harder than it is supposed to be, therefore transferring more noise/vibration through the mounts and into the chassis. It may go away as they wear in (or out, whatever the case).
