176 w115 240d oil cooler lines
the bottom oil cooler line on my 240d has been weeping for a little while now and i am finally fed up with the drip it leaves on the garage floor. i hope to find a new line but if not i'll get mine rebuilt. my question is how do i get to this fitting? the ip is in the way on the top side. the inner fender is in the way on the side. the oil filter housing is in the way from the bottom. i can kind of reach it from above the a-arm but there isn't enough room to move the wrench. ???? any ideas?

I am not sure what sizes are the Line Nuts and the Back up wrenches You would need.
I also don't have a W115 240D. When I did that sort of work on the 300D I used a Crows Foot on an extension and I thinned the Head on a cheap Wrench to act as a backup Wrench. I don't know if the Cut Down Combination Wrench sold by Mercedes Source would be helpful in Your case or not. |
I'm in the same boat I guess, except mine need replacing because one has a hole in it

remove battery and battery tray and youll be able to get at the fitting on oil filter housing.

HF sells a set of thin short handled wrenches that I bought to use on the oil cooler lines on a 126 SD.
