Does this coil go in a 300CD?

Here is the picture -- it came with parts that a guy had stripped from his 300CD, but he said that it was unused... what cars would it fit?

Nope. Mercedes coils are identified by the paint, I believe.

Mercedes coils will have the part number stamped on the bottom of the spring. The paint indicates whether the spring is short (blue) or long (red).

There are two sets of paints. One if the manufacturers and one is Mercedes. The Mercedes ones are either blue or red. We ignore the manufacturer ones.

The blue/red color is used to determine which spring pad is to be used in combination with the point system.

I've been though all of this so I pretty much know all about the spring/point/pad system lol.

I've got some screen shots from the FSM in these threads (126)
