VIN # position for tranny?

I know in the older VIN numbers that start with chassis #
as the first three numbers, position 8 is the transmission, with
0 as a manual and 2 as an automatic.

Where is that info in the newer WDB VIN numbers?

Trying to track down a manual tranny on Row52 to get
a clutch pedal assembly.

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm pretty sure the USA VIN standard does allow for trans info ( it does show engine codes, if the engines were manual only it might help ) There is a 2 digit type code at position 6 and 7 in the WDB setup that shows model designation, that may in a round about way equal manual / auto.

Is Row 52 more secret that Area 51?

Area 51 is where you go to get old, junky, used spaceship parts.

Row 52 is the PNP search engine. Makes searching easier and
has the VIN #s. Row52 | Search for vehicles at self-service auto recycling yards!

From approx. 08/1983, the position #8 contains a letter (A, B, C, F, J, etc.) which designates production plant (Sindelfingen, Bremen, etc.).
