W123, Fuse 8 HVAC
I removed the fuse block so I could re wire The HVAC circuit. Part is melted into the fuse block, not allowing a good connection.
None of the wires are showing signs of cracking or melting. The source is a Red with a yellow stripe. It goes through the fuse, and then to 3 wires, all red with a yellow stripe. Two of the wires are thin, but one is a fat one, even bigger than the source wire. Is the fatter one for the fan? If it is, then I am going to put it on it's own fuse. Thanks! |
Well it looks like looking at my wiring diagram. from fuse F8 16amp
1 RD/YL goes to the compressor relay 2.5 RD/YL goes to the Electronic unit for blower speed control .75 RD/YL goes to the Pushbutton control assembly this is from my Electrical Troubleshooting Manual model yr 83 - 85 Charlie |
Thanks Charlie!!!
I am assuming the 2.5 wire is the fat one that goes to the fan circuit. Is that right? |
The 2.5 wire goes to the Blower Speed Control behind the Glove Box. there are two units side by side behind there. It is for the right one that is a black box. the one to the left, a silver box is the "Electronic unit for temperature control".
I assume you to be right that the 2.5 is the fat wire. It doesn`t say in the manual though. Charlie |
Thanks Charlie!!! I think I will relay that circuit and fuse it.
