w124 om603 with #22 head. Fix trans and sale or just keep motor?

Hye guys i have a w124 low mile 603 with a #22 head that i need to swap the trans in.

I have been wondering if i should swap the trans and sale it as i have no use for it other than the motor or if i should keep it and use the transplant in oh say a w123 wagon

Give your thoughts and why.

BTW so more infgo the w124 is a 87 with 180k on the motor/car with new Lempforder ball joints and the only thing that doesnt work is the typical blower motor which JUST died along with the ac.

If you have the trans already, I would definitely swap it in the car then sell/keep it. You'll get much more $$ for a running car, or if you keep it you'll have more enjoyment out of your running w124 diesel

Even if you don't have the trans it might be worth tracking down the proper trans or swapping one from a 300E then make the needed changes to have it shift like the stock 300D trans (Valve body swap if I remember right).

Now, if you do end up taking the engine out and decide to part out the car, let me know because I may need to pay you a visit

Just saw Walkenvol's post after I posted... 5-speed would be an awesome swap! And it's even 50% off at pick n pull this weekend...
