This is a good thread to read through, but here is a Post from the thread showing how to go about pulling the pin.

Threre are three obscure bolts around the front of the head, one or two inside the cam chain opening and one outside near the injection pump attachment to the head. It won't come off without removing all the bolts....you don't want to get a big prybar and break something.

Thanks! I saw those two bolts inside the cam chain opening. I would have certainly missed them if they weren't pointed out.

This really helps me.

The only thing is that I need an extender for the 12MM head bolts because the current 12 point wrench that I have interferes with one of the cylinder head roker towers.

Where does the group get one of these extened reach 12 point bolts?

This will work.

Stahlwille , 3261412 SF3054X-M12 1/2" Drive Long XZN Screwdriver Socket 12mm

Snapon more $. I'm sure others make one also.

The $45 Mercedes tool has fits perfectly, fyi Most I've ever spent on a socket, but I was grinning like an idiot as I easily hit all 21 bolts with no slip

I have the Stahlwille one and it also fit perfectly. I pulled a 240 head with no issues. Do not be tempted into grinding those short fat XZN bits to fit the cam tower bolts. It will likely not end up well.
