Cant wait. Here is a pic i took of the beautiful crack free early style texture blue dash board. Sitting in this wagon takes me back to what it would have been like in 1979, many years before i was born i might add. Beautiful car, Congrats Neumann.

Sweet an 1978 non turbo wagon....with wait for it, broken odometer, rotted horse hair seat pads and the evil acc servo system! Yes they are nice to sit in, and go back in time....then things start falling apart....Congrads!

1979, odo works, no signs of tampering.... Original owner with full documentation

pedals, steering wheel and interior bear witness to it being the real deal, still has the majority of cosmoline from factory in most areas, hands down the nicest and cleanest as close to new w123 interior I have ever seen. I have seen hundreds of these cars over the years in person, maybe even close to a thousand and nothing has come close to this one.

garaged since new!!

a few minor issues...antenna mast, hatch struts, a rear caliper staring to seize, has seen very little use since mid nineties...but not much else

ac and the evil servo is working as well

Nice enjoy it while it works....because it doesn't for long

I always like the early w123 wagons, they just seem more classic....did you see the one on Mercedes motoring?

Mercedes Motoring - 1979 300TD Diesel Station Wagon

My upholstery looked that good to, till I start to replace the rotted horse hair....not fun....

I would be looking for a new radiator and servo, when the servo cracks....you'll lose the head gasket....and the radiators rot really fast....mine came out in three pieces....

Must Google cosmoline....I wonder if this is the crap I can't seem to get off the engine compartment

That looks like its twin, except for my 102 Blue MB Tex interior.

Everything is fine...the sky is not falling. Nothing to be addressed with the seats. With a good wash and wax, address the few issues and it will be going into climate controlled storage with my other cars.

Ah that's sad, it would be nice to see it on the road....

I know I have a strange thought pattern, I think cars are meant to be driven and not parked in garages and fields....

Nice car, it's always a great find to find them in this condition from the original owner who have loved them over the years. Don't mind any of the negative comments regarding the odo / seats / servo. Alot of the people on the forum buy these cars from the 10th or 30th owner and they pay $500 for them. So they have no idea what it is like to have an example with documented miles and no issues related to neglect. Any 30 year old car will need something here and then no matter how well it was maintained.

My car's odometer has never been broken and if one day it does get broken it will get fixed just like anything else in the car that needs attention. These cars are created equal, I can't say the same for the owners.

In the digital age, humor is such a lost art....

And for the record my car cost me 350$ and as far as I know I am only the 6th owner....

I appreciate the comments, all of them. The hunt for great examples is a lot of fun and provides an opportunity to spend time with great friends like 79Mercy. It's not just the cars, but hearing the stories and meeting a lot of great people that I otherwise would not have crossed paths with. I deeply enjoy the social interaction and the car adventures have been a great source of enjoyment. Boy the stories I can tell, I should write a book

This will not be a daily driver by any means. I have plenty of other cars for that role, but it will be used for the car show and shine scene that's getting into season here in North Florida. Just to dam hot and rainy during the summer! I will rotate with my 53 Olds 88 and my 82 300D sedan with 54k miles.
