Sounds like time for a road trip, huh Charlie? I scored a lot of stuff this weekend at 50% off for our new BMW e34 project car.

Just a general question to the gearheads in the northeast...are there many upullit -type junkyards around there..or do environmental issues preclude them?

This is good to see. There definitely are U-Pull-It type junkyards here -- about 7 within ten miles of me -- but Massachusetts put a law on the books a little while ago that prohibits any new junkyards from being built, ostensibly for environmental reasons. You can imagine who benefits from that. Some yards around here offer good pricing, but others are higher. I was floored when I first saw P-n-P pricing listed somewhere... most yards around here ask for much more. It's also hard to find anything made before 1990 in the yards, especially in the way of Mercedes.

I'll have to go check out the Millis one sometime...

BTW, Charlie, MA = Massachusetts. ME = Maine

the PNP in RI is nearly walking distance from me, less than two miles. It took over an exisitng u-pullit yard. Interested to see what the difference in selection or policy might be now, so thats probably what they've done in MA to get around that law.

The yard was closed for a while, so maybe they intended to pave or reorganize it to facilitate better picking. Ill have to check it out later this week

Before it was the usual north east wrecking yard with every car axle deep in mud or gravel. Ill be interested if they did all the welded rim car stand solutions that seems to be a norm in PNP yards ive seen in pics

Breaks of the game for our area. Cars that old are either rusted out or crushed pretty fast when they show up, not profitable to keep a lot of spaces occupied for a long time by old cars with a small but dedicated clientele who will pay a couple bucks for a worthless widget when they could fill the spaces with 5 year old toyotas where they can charge 300 bucks for a bumper skin.

Well that one`s a bit far from here, like going to some foreign country, don`t I need a pass Port?

I don`t remember any grand openings out here when one opened, and WOW you guys get....

Free T-Shirts

Free Coffee and Do-Nuts

Free Hot Dogs

And Boobs.

What more could a Gear Head want?

yeah but the next day they get replaced with some fat girls behind the counter.

I missed this 50% sale, didn`t know about it till late Sunday night. PNP didn`t send me a heads up on it. Man that don`t happen too often. I sent them an e-mail to see why not, Iam signed up to receive notices. I get the weekly 20% off on headlight composits, all AC components etc.... and my buddy gets the upcoming sales notices.

Sign up for the Tool Kit Rewards card, you gain points on each $ you spend, then when you gain enough points, they send you a $20 coupon.
