Heat shield

My heat shield rattles a lot and the mounts are broken. This is the one in the engine bay passenger side where old large football like trap oxidizer was, it has been converted to straight pipe. Do I need this heat shield anymore? Or can I just remove it?

Thanks

Ditch it. That or tighten it up. The only heat shields I see necessary are those that directly protect rubber or painted parts. Not all that important if the trap-ox is gone.
