Exclamation Window seals Help!

Hey guys, So car got painted but I had to get safe lite to replace my front windshield and seal because I needed to drive the car. As far as the back windshield I have the original glass and just needed a seal.

Apparently Meyle no longer makes seals???? What?!?! So I bought a Uro one. . .terrible I havent even got it on the car but it doesnt have the proper grooves fro the chrome. what the heck?? The guys at safelite used if I remember right a "precision" brand seal? does that ring a bell? Where can I find one? I have scoured the net for different brands but most pages like our own pelican parts don't car anything but uro and then MB original is special order. . am I stuck with those two options??

For the windshield and rear window, I wouldn't use anything other than the genuine Mercedes seals. They are the only ones I've heard of lasting well over a decade without developing leaks while the other brands don't have as good a reputation for longevity.

I'm in a similar boat and before the winter I need to get both windows sealed up but I'm going to have to spring for the expensive seal because I don't want to be doing it again within the next ten years.

That`s about it for the rear window seal. 99% of all the sellers are moving the APA/URO brand.

The next best is from the dealer, Retail is $212.00. I see it from $162 - $169 wholesale. Pelican shows (I think) $157, but they haven`t up dated their pricing from the dealer. It will be more.

About 6 months ago the wholesale was $123.00.

Wholesale is about 20% off retail.

Yesterday I was in PNP and busted out the rear window in a 84 300D for the aluminum window trim. I was looking at the rubber gasket thinking HMMMMM.......

I left it but still had good life to it. Looked to be original Factory, had the plumbers Putty around the body. the ODO showed something like 412K.

I would question Pelican Parts about the one below to see if it fits your year and model.
If My Notes are correct the Mercedes part number for My W123 is 1236700239 Rear Windshield seal .
The below Lemfoerder Window seals part number is 123-670-02-39-INT Shown as $57.50
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 123-670-02-39-INT

There is no Lemforder seals available. Pelican showed them a while back along with meyle. I called them and there was none to be found anywhere at that time. I wanted the Lemforder.

Now Pelican only lists the URO, Meyle and the one from the dealer.

$41.75, 49.25 and $158.00

I wonder if the meyle is a reboxed Chicom.?

Be sure to let us know the details as to cost and see if you can find where the Seal is made.
I tried to find some sellers of the rear Seal but I could not find any and there was only I think it was 2 that said they sold the front Wind Shield Seal.

ok so the seal just came in and I got it on the glass no problem, it was a little tighter to get on the glass than the Uro seal, however the grooves for the trim are 100x better. . .the uro seal's groove for the chrome was only curved near the top of the glass but at the bottom it wasnt even cut properly and the groove was straight. The Precision seal was also a lot thicker and it was about 140$ shipped to my house

here is a picture of what Im talking about, the seal on the glass is the new percision one and it appears it was made in Thailand?

So Precision is $140.00 and I can get a Dealer one for $163.00 + tax wholesale.

I wonder the quality of Chicom and Tiawan, they are actually Chinese.

$140 would make me consider the geniune MB seal at $160. Let us know how it holds up.

Hasn't there been a few People on the Forum say that the Genuine Mercedes Windshield and rear Widow Seals started to crack after one Year or so.

One speculated that it was because they may have been on the Shelf for a long time.

Comments from Mark DiSilvestro: "While they may fit better than some aftermarket gaskets, I've had problems with premature aging of two factory Mercedes windsheild gaskets."

Anyone ever had their rear windshield replaced somewhere?
