I test drove a Prius 3 years ago and as I recall, it was super quiet, had a lot of pep and was very responsive and rode nice.

the newer prius ain't bad as far as styling. My objection is I get bored in new stuff, the car doesn't speak to me anymore.

You've traded up your engraved hand built wash tub made with brass and nickel plating for a new soulless washing machine.

It will be more efficient, but it might be boring. We will see what happens over time

It's true. I will definitely be bored now that I don't have things to fix and waiting on AAA. Those of you who live in a congested city with no garage will know what that's like.

If I lived in NY, I wouldn't even have a car. Im impressed already that you went to that trouble in the first place. If I had to have a car, id pick a bruiser busted up crown vic that I could beat the crap out of.

I didn't have a car for 10 years in the city. I got the 300td because I always wanted it. I was definitely naive in thinking I could tackle and deal with the stress of fixing it. I had the car for almost 3 years. It's left me stranded a few times. I would have given up on the car a long time ago if it was for funola helping me and encouraging me to keep going. That the car was great. The biggest thing he helped on was when the fuel line was sucking in air from the cracked supply line.

I had family over a dozen times and there was something always wrong with it. I could not explain to them why I was driving this beater if I could afford a new car. The car would sometimes get rejected from garages because it leaked a little bit of oil or because it smoked a little or it smelled like diesel. Ya I would say things like "this car is a workhorse! Look at the miles! Show me a car with this much age that runs better than this? It handles so great and it's really comfortable on long road trips. Hey, they don't make them like they use to. This car has so much personality. You've got a soulless Altima but I've got STYLE" All those saying went to **** when I had to keep getting things fixed and THAT altima, was out cruising while I was under it trying to figure out what was wrong this time.

Eventually I had to give in. I could not keep up. I wanted a car that I could just drive and nothing more. Ya the 300TD got me lots of nods, waves and looks but I'm happy now with just being invisible.

I leased the prius c. So it's with me for the next 3 years. Maybe after I turn it in my situation will be different.

I'm not trying to say a new soulless car is better than an old one with balls and personality. It's just right for my current situation.

The best thing about living in NYC is leaving it every now and then. That's why I bought a car. Zip cars/renting are too expensive in NY. I like going upstate to visit friends and family.

Enjoy your new car but make sure you park it somewhere safe at night.

I would not take this lying down, such a derogative comment.

Personally I would not keep a car in NY. It would be an old banger even if I do. Having said that, it looks like the OP wants a reliable car to get from A to B.

Come on now guys...

Hybrids are good for some things. I used my Civic Hybrid to transport an OM603 on an 8-9 hour drive. It made a fine utility vehicle with exceptional MPG. Haha.

Even with my extensive MB collection, I'll admit it, they have their place for crazy MPG.

I don't take offense to the "Testicles went with the TD" remark. He's just breaking my balls for owning a prius. It reminds me of when I was child and kids use to say stuff like that to each other. Glad we're all adults here

How does a car give anyone balls? It's ludicrous.

obviously you never hung some cast pot metal or injection molded child toy plastic balls on the back of your truck. You never felt the power this gives you, the invigorating sense of having balls that are visible to all. You feel tougher, larger, better looking, and of course, satisfied with your public balls in everyones face.

JB3 You just gave me an idea. Maybe I'll buy one of those balls and put it on the back of the prius so if anyone asked where my balls are, I'll point to the rear.

Your Nutz - Welcome
