Diagnostic tachometer connection?

Did a forum search but all I find is how to repair a tach, my dash tach works fine, but I want to hook up my diagnostic tach to properly set idle speed.

Are there pins on the amp I can tap onto?

You can take the signal which feeds the dash tachometer, that is an amplified signal, or you can take the signal straight from the plug (remove cap & amp), that signal isn't amplified. It will depend on your diagnostic tachometer which one works.
