Only certain MB's have the "soft" front flex disc. And yes, "taxi" service MB's (not sold in USA) have different flex discs (and different motor mounts for some models).

Regardless of which type of flex disc is used, expect the Uro to grenade within a year or two, instead of a decade or two.

Other routine scenarios:

1. Company shipped good quality for a few years to establish brand name... then switched to cheaper stock sourcing.

2. Company change of ownership or senior management results in new philosophy.

3. Brand sold off.

4. URO is simply at the bleeding edge of overall decline in consistency of parts quality, which seems to now be hitting "reliable" suppliers as well as the traditional second-line names.

URO claims to be an OEM supplier to several makes, or they did when I visited their website. No manufacturer would put up with too many warranty issues from lousy factory parts (well not above the norm these days, anyway).

There are similar and even worse complaints on the BMW and VW forums, and details of fights with other major big-name european brand internet parts vendors over failures of major items in less than a year. This is hardly a grumpy old diesel owners issue.

Hmmm...I wonder if they were the OE supplier for parts on the Hindenburg?

If the E.P.C. specifies a soft front disk, can a rear disk be used in place?

Found Lemförder rear disks, but not front, thus why ask.

Thank y'all in advance!
