Smile New addition to the family: 1993 190E 2.6 as parts car

Went and picked up a parts car today. It was a 1993 190E 2.6 with 209,000 miles. The owner said it was having issues starting so she just parked it, then a tree fell and busted out the back window. It took us 6 hours instead of the expected 2 and cost much more to get the thing than anticipated. We though we could get it to start then drive it back to my house, but after working on it for a while, we decided not much could be done where the car was sitting and we had to get a trailer.

We needed the brake MC and booster for 400E brake upgrade, the front springs because the ones in our 190D were snapped, replacement hubs, full ABS set up to pair with the brake upgrade, and door cards w/ speakers for the 6 speaker system along with some other misc parts. Some bonuses include the dash which looked perfect, the updated, much better seats (which had a few tears and need to be cleaned and perhaps dyed but still a bonus) and of course mechanical parts such as the engine (which isn't running but seems to have an issue with the distributor).

The paint was horrible, which is sort of a sad thing as even though the body was dented up somewhat, there seemed to be little rust, all I could see was surface stuff. I might be able to cut out some sections to somewhat mend rust issues on our 190D, but ultimately the body is probably going to go to the crusher. If it doesn't go to the crusher, it will go my friend (who helped me retrieve it today) because wants to make it into a boat.

I will be selling parts at some point so if you want dibs on certain parts, go ahead and PM me and I'll get back to you with whether or not that part is usable or for sale (for example, the dash is not for sale and the driver's side vent assembly is not usable), and at some point when I have the time, a researched and hopefully fair price.

We crushed a 190E with the 4 cylinder last summer after removing the 5-speed, front fenders, hood, and lots of other useable parts. IIRC, got around $275 which included $50 for the catalitic converter which was surprising. Your 6 cylinder should weigh more especially with a tranny.

Well if the tranny is good, looking at Ebay, I could probably get $250-$300 for it and $300-$400 if we can get the engine running. If we can't get the egine running, my friend thinks we should make it into a table, quirky things like that sell well on etsy for some reason.

Maybe you'll have better luck than us as we had a good running motor (I drove it from FL to TN before pulling the tranny) and never got a bit of interest in it so off to the crusher it went.

Well I shall try to price it low enough to for some bites, I know atleast with the transmission I have seen similar condition ones (assuming it works) sell for right around $300 on ebay so I would probably be fine. Also I would assume the 2.6 is a bit more desirable the 2.3 and it was used in the W201, W124, and W126.
