W124 Injection Pump parts/seals?

Hi,

I have a 1990 300D (2.5TD) with 165K miles and my Diesel Injection Pump is leaking from the stop valve/unit. Does anyone know where I can purchase the seal/ring for the valve?

I contacted MB Dealership and they only sell the entire injection pump. My pump works fine and I am only looking to change some seals. I would appreciate guidance on where I can obtain the parts. Thanks.

Best Regards,
Louis

Hunter has said that Harbor Freight has a generic Metric O-ring kit.

For about $9 Dorman 172 piece O-ring Value Pack #799-450 Metric O-ring Kit can be had at Autozone and likely other Auto Part stores.

I don't know what size you need so cannot say if the Dorman Kit has what you need (I have a Kit).

There may be a thread on the replacement and you can ask someone who has done it where they got the O-rings and what size.

Thanks for the guidance. Is there an injection pump seal kit so that I can replace all the require seals on the pump?

It seems that my pump is leaking from the stop valve and below the pump as well. Thanks.

There is no kit but you can get through an MB dealer the seals you need, except for the control rod sensor seal which requires disassembly of the IP anyway. Register at epc.startekinfo.com (no charge in the US with a US credit card for verification) so you can get a list of part numbers. IIRC one of the o-rings that goes on the tip of the oil filter cover also fits the stop lever shaft.

The shutoff actuator o-ring is part number 010 997 56 48. Mind how you reinstall the shutoff actuator. Installing it the wrong way will cause the engine to run at high rpms and it won't shut off with the key.

Great. Thanks for the information and I will see which seals I need and replace them. Thanks again!
