Exclamation 1996 E300D Engine Removal 606.912

Hello...

I'm getting to remove the engine and trans assy as one, but was requesting suggestions on removal.

I see there's one lift point eyelet on the front, but I'm not seeing one on the rear of engine. Where would it be a good way to lift it from the rear of the engine? Do I need to add a bracket of some sort and where would I attach it to?

I appreciate the feedback.

Ben

IIRC there should be a bracket at the back of the engine.

I have 3 identical cars and for some reason I'm not seeing it..but I will check again closely.

Would it be on the head or the engine block?

Mine (95 E300) has this lifting lug on the drivers side rear of the head.

I had the opportunity to take a look at a 99 E300 yesterday and the lifting lug is actually on the intake manifold, close to the location shown.
