The red is going to Greazzer I think, vstech has a blue that I want. I think he's inundated with PMs though so waiting till mine makes it around.

Little bit more than an hour if you're in Chapel Hill. I just interviewed at a place in Morrisville, RTP just off Miami and it was about 65 miles. I'm almost exactly 1 mile from the Virginia border. I'll send you a PM.

we need more recent pics!

That color blue is one of my favorite MB colors personally. Its a rich, deep color. I had an 83 300D for years same color, looked just like this one.

Sounds like its coming together nicely, almost at the stage for some road trips in it!

Close to road trip...I put this in another thread but changed motor mounts. Wife has been only one to drive the car other then me around the farm and that was on dirt.

Both motor mount were missing the bolts to frame. Centering mount is broken (bolt is broken off in block). No torque shock at all....don't know if all 240's had them but this one doesn't have it now.

New mounts are in. I've still got to remove the remains of the centering mount and take the broken bolt out. Looking for a used torque shock assembly.

It finally feels close to right though. Still too much vibration felt but a whole lot better.

pics! Showing the repair rusted out drivers rear quarter, front fenders/air dam, cleanup and bedliner coating of the rocker, overall shot.

Paint needs compound and buff but there is new paint in places so not going there yet. I did machine compound and buff the trunk lid and it came out 'okay'. The original paint has below surface level damage that can't be fixed without a repaint and the car looks too good to waste money on that.

Sunroof sits a little high from my bodged rubber roller repair, waiting on parts to fix properly, doesn't leak and operates well.
