Nural pistons - brand awareness advice req'd

G'day Folks,

Has anyone ever heard of Nural as a brand?

Do they make good quality stuff?

I'm considering new pistons

Nüral is at the forefront of piston technology with innovative engine products

Any advice / experiences / comparisons with Mahle and Kolbenschmidt???

Feederal Mogul use to be a good brand name here in the U.S. years ago in car arts. think U.S. made.
I seem to remember Federal Mogul Piston Rings adds with a picture of a tough guy that needed a Shave.

Clicking on one of the links at the bottom we see the other companies that they own or is under their umbrella.

Brands

National is a Chinese supplier of bearings
Champion GP`s are not to be trusted.

Nural is a new one. They say they are in the fore front of technology, and these pistons save fuel and more power. maybe some type of design in the newer engines? Don`t see how they could design a Piston to increase fuel consumption in these old engines.

See attached. Just pulled from a 3.5L OM603. Does this not appear to be something OEM?

Nural (Federal Mogul) is an OE manufacturer of pistons for several automotive companies. The are high in quality. I wouldn't hesitate to use their aftermarket replacement products.

Great stuff - just what I needed to know.

Searching on the interweb gets lots of hits for pistons fitted to BMWs

Since we are talking about Pistons I was looking at NAPA online Parts for my 84 300D and they sell Piston Sets ($1,900). The showed the Logo of the Piston Company as being HK or KH. The Logo has One Letter superimposed over the Other but I could not tell which one was the top Letter.
Anyone have info on that company?

I don't know what engine you're working on but with the 616/617 it's MUCH cheaper to reuse the pistons with new rings and replace the cylinder liners (sleeves). They're designed to be replaced. Pistons are pricey, liners are fairly cheap. Of course if your pistons have bad ring lands, failed skirts, etc. that may not be possible.

It is an overly complicated situation I've made for myself - I think it is best left with that being "enough said"
