$137 for a bolt

can i disassemble the old rack damper bolt and put a beefier spring in it? anything would be better than spending $137 (classic center price, pelican's is nearby) on a damn bolt, hollow or not.

The one on an OM617 is not serviceable. I imagine it is the same one you have. I paid around $67 for the last one.

Least they are still available, if you need a pressure relief valve for the injection pump.....they are NLA and the ones that are serviceable, the springs are NLA.....afraid to stretch mine for this reason....

Stretch it, you can find several springs that will function.

FYI

It is listed at the dealer here in Europe for about 37 euros including Dutch sales tax - at today's exchange rate that's 50.66 USD

If you can pull the collar out you can access the Spring. Instead of stretching the Spring make some tiny Shims.

On My old one the Nose of the Plunger was noticeably worn.

I believe this is the Bosch number for the part 1420560014
