1995 E300D (emergency) shut off valve in operation

Here is a video of an (emergency) shut off valve operating on an OM606.910

I bet it shuts off faster if Rome are higher... like in an emergency

I could never get the shut-off valve to work so I made a shut-off lever like the 603 engine has. Works great but fortunately I've never needed it.

Why did they stay from the shutoff design of the w123?

This is useless. Mine just leaks...

Yes they do leak. They can be serviced but not not without sacrificing the plastic knob in most cases.

MB must have super glued that knob on. If you don't mind loosing the knob, you can knock out a pin in the valve ( under the knob) and get to the o'ring which is the culprit for the leak.

I might end up doing Jeremy's conversion if it fails, due to the high replacement cost of the valve.

Jeremy, do you by chance know the part no. for the bolt on top of the main filter for your W210? I'd like to have one on hand for when I do a conversion like you have done.

I've never bought the bolt, only the valve (and returned it when I discovered it didn't work). The bolt should be listed in EPC.
