Needed: 95 E300D Vacuum diagrams

Does anyone know of a source for vac diagrams for a '95 E300D?

I had to pull the intake this weekend to replace the rubber fuel lines (no, I did not pay $175 for the OEM ones) and I had a small-diameter, black vac line that I couldn't find where it connected to. Runs right past the IP with a bundle that comes from the drivers fender well.

I connected the large-diameter black line that goes to the electronic valves under the IM.

This morning it seems to be slipping into gear under partial throttle but shifts nicely under WOT.

It is also possible that I got a few turns on the bowden cable on top of the valve cover. This might be putting shift points at the wrong time when vacuum is not at the correct level for the shift?

Still learning all of the differences in this w124 from my w123 wagons...

I am having the same problem. I cannt find a diagram. I think that small black tube connects with a small white tube and goes to the modulator valve on the drivers side transmission which controls the softness/firmness of shifts.

If you find out for sure, let me know.

Vacuum diagram

Here is the vacuum diagram from FSM for the 1995 E300 (OM606NA, W124). FSM has many diagrams covering both the 605 engine (not imported into USA) and the 606 engine. Add manual or automatic transmission, catalyst or not, and you have 7 different versions of the vacuum diagram. Since the manual tries to cover all of the versions whether imported into USA or not, it can get complicated and many things are shown that do not apply to the USA models. People in other parts of the world are aware of this.

The "NOTE" at the bottom of the page is actually page 8 of the manual section 605_606\07.1-0005. I used Photoshop to move the NOTE to the bottom of the diagram so that all the information is on one page. (It appears from the list of models that the note doesn't apply to the 124.131 E300D sold in USA as a 1995 model so yours may still have an in-line restrictor.)

Sweet. Thanks Jeremy.

Mine has a build date of 11/93, so I'm not sure whether this means I should or should not have the restrictor inline.

I read the note as saying cars built before July 1994 have the restrictor; cars built on or after that date have the restrictor built into the VCV.

1995e300d vacuum

My car has a build date of 12/94. There must be some connector connecting the black straw line to the white straw line. I just can't see it yet. The vacuum to the modulator is non existent, so as soon as I find the connection I will let you know. I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Was lost looking at the diagram until I remembered that sw=schwartz=black

The vac diagram for my 95 is on a sticker on the frame under the hood.

1995 e300d ....vacuum

I think I just found what we were looking for. There is a bundle of tubes wrapped in a vinyl wrapper that you can find on the drivers side fender. It comes from the area going down to the modulator valve. One of those tubes in white. That comes from the modulator and runs to something on the injector pump. I think it orange. Then the white tube continues back into the packet and goes around to the amplifier on the passenger side where it plugs into the VCV marked slot. I think it goes and hooks into the Vac pump on the engine where there about 4 tubes coming from the Vac pump itself.

So it looks like the engine makes vacuum from the pump. Then the amplifier increases it. By the time it gets to the injector pump thing it gets reduced and goes to the modulator valve at about 10 #. The modulator then bleeds the vacuum and the tranny shifts at each bleed down. Amazing.

And the whole mess is just to simulate the vacuum that a gas engine makes in its intake manifold, since both gas and diesel cars use almost identical transmissions.

1995 E300D fixed it.

I ended up taking the crossover pipe off to see if there were any loose vacuum hoses because the tranny went into high gear with a bang noise. I didn't know what I was looking for but I did find a tee connector with the capped off tee which was crushed. Not knowing if this tee even belonged, I capped it off. Just put it all back together and drove it. It shifts all gears better and no banging into high gear. Also the cruise control now works.....a mIracle from working in the blind.

Does anyone know where "A" on the Top Left-hand side of the diagram is supposed to terminate to? On my recently acquired 1995 e300d, I have a hose that leads to the battery area and it terminates to nothing; the hose just ends there. Is this normal/correct? What exactly is meant by "air-admission to vehicle interior mean?
