W123 Fog light size
Quick question. Are the fog lamps on a W123 5.75" in Diameter? I know the regular headlamps are 7" but what about the fogs?
thanks, Glenn

i think they may be slightly less than that because it seems it takes a small amount of cutting to fit the nice 5 3/4" ECE lamps on a W123. i haven't done it yet.

I can tell ya for sure Wednesday night. I ordered a set of 5.75 headlights and yellow H7 bulbs to go in 'em. Several threads on many boards claim 5.75 headlights fit with minor grinding on the centering tabs.
I never know if it's my car or not they're talking about since there are euro and non-euro and all, but it was worth the $40 to find out. If they don't I've got an old motorcycle that uses that size and could use an upgrade from sealed beam. The kit comes with h4 which is what the bike would use.

Just went out and measured mine...5.75" diameter. Maybe more or less...just stuck a ruler on and looked carefully. Shouldn't be that much different, housing ring or not.

Threads I read said 5.75 was right size and just the locator tabs needed a bit of grinding. I figger a little work with the dremel and they'll go. My current ones have rusted out reflectors and cracked lens. I don't really need 'em since I'm running melt your face wattage H4 conversions for headlights but more light is good. I'm paranoid about forest rats.
